Starting the New Year Off Right!

I must say we have had a pretty amazing month here at DG Beta Psi.

On January 7th the Crimson Tide won their 15th National Championship. No big deal. If I had to guess, I would say that is definitely the best way to start off a semester. ROLL TIDE! Some of our sisters were even lucky enough to be there for the big game!

Here are some pictures from their trip!

As a senior I have to say, three National Championships out of the four years I have been in college has been such a wonderful experience!

Just a few days later on January 9th we were lucky enough to have an up and coming country music star from Alabama come perform just for us at chapter!

The very handsome and sweet Aaron Parker stopped by to perform some of his own songs, did some sing-alongs with us and even remixed one of our favorite songs just for us.

You can read his Sweet Caroline Delta Gamma remix or click on the link below to enjoy it for yourself.

"I'm here with a bunch of DeeGees
They're super smart sweet and classy
A boy like me couldn't go wrong

In their mansion here in Tuscaloosa
Notre Dame was the loser
The tide dynasty will keep rolling on"

Aaron was brought to us because his wonderful agent, Julie Behr, who happens to be one of our sisters from the Gamma Chi chapter at Cal State Long Beach. Another quick thank you to Julie and their whole crew! Y’all are welcome back anytime!

Now that Delta Gamma is ‘joining forces,’ Beta Psi is starting a partnership with the Lakeshore Foundation.

Lauren Lock, Courtney Conklin and Alyssa Heffley had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at the Lakeshore Foundation.

Based in Homewood, AL, the foundation is dedicated to enable people with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions to lead healthy, active lifestyles through physical activity, sport, recreation and research.

Fun fact: their campus is also a U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Site!

Throughout the year they host Lima Foxtrot, a series of camps dedicated to impaired military men and women.

In keeping with Delta Gamma national philanthropy of sight conservation, the Beta Psi chapter will specifically be supporting Operation Night Vision, a camp for military veterans who were visually impaired while at war. Hosted every summer, ONV is specifically designed for injured military personnel with visual impairment or blindness.

Beta Psi will be providing aid through financial donations as well as providing volunteers for the camp. We are so excited to start working with them and DO GOOD!
